Our operations at the Kirazlı site are being carried out in accordance with the valid Positive EIA Decision, the operating license, and all legal permits issued by the relevant authorities, under the continuous supervision of public authorities.

A decision to suspend operations issued in response to a previous information request has been overturned by a higher court. Nevertheless, claims that this decision has halted project activities—made by taking the ruling out of context—do not reflect the truth. Our on-site activities continue within the scope of legal permits and under the supervision of the relevant authorities.

In addition to complying with all requirements of national legislation, Altınkale Mining is also subject to the environmental and social obligations stipulated by financial institutions under the national and international loans used to finance its investments. Our company is committed to operating in compliance with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development’s (EBRD) Performance Requirements, the International Finance Corporation’s (IFC) Performance Standards, and the Equator Principles, and is regularly monitored and audited in this regard.

Construction work is currently underway at the Kirazlı site with all necessary permits in place. The project currently provides employment to over 1,000 people, making a significant contribution to the regional economy and Turkey’s domestic production capacity.
