ICMC | International Cyanide Management Code

The International Cyanide Management Institute (ICMI) is a multi-stakeholder, independent organization established by the United Nations Environment Commission and headquartered in Washington, D.C. The International Cyanide Code (ICMC), developed by the Institute, is recognized as the most established and prestigious certification program in the global mining sector, covering all operational processes from the procurement, transportation, and storage of cyanide to its use at facilities and communication with stakeholders.

Altınkale Mining will fully implement the ICMC requirements to ensure the safe, transparent, and environmentally responsible use of cyanide at every stage of its operations. Our operations will integrate all standards of this international code—comprising 9 policies, 29 procedures, and nearly 200 control points established by the Institute—into our corporate structure based on the “zero-defect” principle and will meticulously complete the certification processes.

Compliance with the components of the Cyanide Code will be regularly monitored through internal audits conducted annually within our company by specialized technical teams. Additionally, to certify the system’s transparency and reliability in accordance with international standards, full compliance will be maintained with recertification audits conducted every three years by international independent auditors affiliated with the Institute.
