Public and Community RelationsPublic and Community Relations

Altınkale Mining’s Public and Community Relations program—as outlined in our Company’s Stakeholder Engagement Plan—will be structured as a comprehensive network of relationships designed to understand the concerns of all stakeholders, including local communities and public or private organizations, based on mutual respect and trust, and to manage project-related outcomes and expectations.

Community Relations Activities

To ensure the continuity of our connection with the community throughout our operational processes, we aim to carry out the following activities:

  • Stakeholders will be regularly informed about design, scheduling, and environmental and social impacts during the investment, construction, commissioning, and operations phases.
  • The company’s environmental and social risks will be systematically managed.
  • Comprehensive data collection processes will be carried out for Social Impact Assessment studies.
  • Relevant parties will be identified, and stakeholder needs and expectations will be determined and managed.
  • The project’s local procurement and employment strategies will be carefully defined.
  • A transparent Complaint Management system will be established.
  • Special initiatives and projects targeting vulnerable groups will be planned.
  • Regular stakeholder briefings will be held regarding natural habitats and biodiversity.
  • Plans to improve livelihoods will be prepared by professional teams.
  • Public health and safety initiatives (hazardous chemicals, traffic management, etc.) will be carried out with great care.
  • Public awareness campaigns on Emergency Management and related topics will be conducted at facilities.
Public Relations Activities

Transparency will be the guiding principle in all processes carried out with public institutions:

  • All permitting processes related to mining activities will be monitored.
  • Investment projects defined in the Community Development Plan will be coordinated with the relevant institutions.
  • There will be continuous and effective interaction with public institutions.
  • All changes and progress related to the project will be regularly shared with public institutions.
  • All written and verbal requests submitted through the complaint and feedback procedure will be recorded and managed.
  • Community investment monitoring and advisory committee meetings will be organized.
  • Long-term relationships will be established with public and private organizations in the areas of operation, based on mutual trust and transparency.
  • We will collaborate with public institutions on social responsibility projects; the goal is for these projects to provide sustainable benefits for the local community and society as a whole.
Social Impact Assessments

Before projects are implemented, expert teams will determine how the investment will affect the local community in the regions where activities will be carried out. Focus group studies, household surveys, and face-to-face interviews will be used to identify potential social risks associated with the projects. By implementing social projects designed to mitigate these risks, we will ensure that the risks are either completely eliminated or reduced to acceptable levels.

Stakeholder Engagement

Altınkale Mining’s Public and Community Relations departments will be structured to resolve issues, support the local community, and establish honest, scientific, and transparent communication. In accordance with the Stakeholder Engagement Plan, written and visual materials will be used to determine which stakeholders will be reached, how frequently, and through which methodology. Disadvantaged groups will also be included in appropriate consultation processes, ensuring an equitable approach to communication.

Livelihood Improvement

Based on international standards (such as EBRD Performance Requirements), the project aims to identify its environmental and social impacts and mitigate any negative economic effects. Livelihood studies will be conducted in collaboration with relevant university departments. Based on these findings, numerous projects will be implemented to mitigate potential risks, prevent income loss, and ensure the sustainability and diversification of existing income sources (such as crop production and livestock farming).
